A frequent letter after founding years: Please send your Einkommensteuerbescheid so we can finalize contributions. This is the bridge between vorläufig and endgültig.
What they want
Usually the Einkommensteuerbescheid (assessment notice) for a named calendar year, not your entire ELSTER history and not a random EÜR export. AOK and TK both describe recalculation from the official assessment once it exists.
If you have multiple years open, answer per year with clearly named PDFs: `ESt-Bescheid-2024.pdf`.
Send protocol
- Download the Bescheid from ELSTER or request a copy from your Steuerberater.
- Check that name, Steuer-ID / identifiers, and year match the KK letter.
- Submit via the insurer portal when available; otherwise mail with Mitgliedsnummer on every page.
- Keep upload confirmation or Einlieferungsbeleg.
- Ask for written confirmation that endgültige Beiträge will follow.
If the Bescheid is not ready, say so with a date estimate and ask whether a Finanzamt confirmation of "noch nicht veranlagt" is acceptable. Leaving the letter unanswered is how Höchstbeitrag stories start.
After they recalculate
Read the new Beitragsbescheid. Compare Einkommen used vs your tax assessment. Dispute mismatches with numbers, not adjectives. Schedule any Nachzahlung; ask about arrears installments if needed.

Your Steuerbescheid is a multi-agency document: Finanzamt, Krankenkasse, sometimes Bauamt deposit math later. File it under the year once and link outward. Re-scanning from email every March is how freelancers "lose" it.
